Some strange fashion...maybe it's better to say that this is design plus fashion: originally studying fashion design, Jo Cope quickly became aware of the boundaries posed upon this discipline and felt restricted by them. Her approach to fashion could be labelled as conceptual but most importantly all of her ideas have a single consistency which is their association to the body. Cope also aims to break preconceptions which relate to visual and interactive aspects of familiar fashion items. She is interested in challenging the way an item such as a bag may dictate its own design outcome.
